John Petersen is a former Yale crew captain on a six-man team that made the first world record-breaking expedition in an open rowboat from South America to Antarctica. The expedition was captured by the Discovery Channel and made into a feature-length documentary seen by millions around the world. John’s expedition continued by leading teams across the USA, helping their organizations turn around projects and achieve record-breaking outcomes. He comes from four generations of construction workers, making construction crews a familiar and familial place. He combines insight from endurance athletics and a successful career in leadership, using the science of relationships to help teams from academia to construction sites, from boardrooms to classrooms achieve more together.
